Research Study Recruitment
Are you interested in learning how to hop a curb ... go down a steep ramp in a wheelie ... descend stairs in your wheelchair ... and other wheelchair skills?
Participants will be compensated for their participation in this study.
Project description: We are conducting this research to determine the effect of a wheelchair skills training program on outcomes in persons with spinal cord injury.
We will be asking people to attend 4 group training sessions. The training sessions will last approximately 120 minutes each. We will focus on wheelchair skills like those listed above as well as any personal goals people have. We will also be asking people to complete a series of questionnaires. These questionnaires will be completed four times during the year following enrollment in the study.
Eligibility: You may be eligible to participate in this research study if you:
- Are 18-75 years old
- Have a non-progressive spinal cord injury
- Independently use a manual wheelchair as your primary means of mobility
