Research Study Recruitment
EFFECTS OF WHEELCHAIR SEAT POSITION AND FOOTPRINT LENGTH ON RAMP PROPULSION BIOMECHANICS
The Human Engineering Research Laboratories (HERL) is looking for manual wheelchair users with spinal cord injuries to participate in a study on the effects of different wheelchair set ups on ramp propulsion biomechanics. Participants will complete questionnaires, have body measurements recorded, and will propel the test wheelchair on our Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN).
You may be eligible to participate if:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You have a spinal cord injury.
- Your primary means of mobility is an independently-used manual wheelchair.
- You were injured a year ago or longer.
The testing will take place at HERL in Bakery Square, 6425 Penn Avenue and is expected to last approximately three hours. Participants who complete the study will be reimbursed $100.00. Participation is voluntary and all information will bekept strictly confidential.
